A Moment of Joy in the Heat

This black-and-white photo was taken last Wednesday in Balsthal during a summer hike with my dog, Imao. The temperatures were scorching, and we were both feeling the heat. As we made our way along the trail, we came across a small stream a perfect chance for Imao to cool down. Without hesitation, he stepped into the water, enjoying a refreshing footbath.

Captured with my Leica Monochrome, the image freezes this quiet moment of happiness. There’s something timeless and honest in the way dogs interact with nature, no rush, no distractions, just pure joy. Watching Imao enjoy the cool water reminded me how simple moments can be the most beautiful.
