This morning, I ventured out with my camera to embrace the fog that has become a near-constant companion in the Jura. The air was thick with mist, casting a veil over everything and turning the landscape into a monochrome dreamscape. Through the lens, I found a small house, solitary and timeless, with a beautiful tree beside it. The tree’s skeletal form stood out, its branches blurred and softened by the mist, like a faint sketch on a foggy canvas.
While the fog has lingered for weeks, giving the Jura a melancholic touch, moments like these are what truly capture the soul of this weather. Each scene is like a painting, inviting you to slow down and absorb the quiet, the stillness. It’s in these details—the way the fog blurs edges, how trees seem to fade into the background—that the unique charm of this season emerges. For me, capturing this scene in black and white felt like the perfect way to honor the subtle drama that fog brings to the landscape.
