An encounter you can never plan

Early in the morning, out on a walk with my dog, I came across this young deer. It came remarkably close, curious and completely calm. And my dog? Not a twitch, not a bark, not a sound. Just stillness. For a brief moment, it felt as though the two had known each other for a long time. As if this encounter were the most natural thing in the world.

Moments like these remind me why I love heading out into nature with my camera. Not to force anything, but to capture what nature chooses to offer us, all on its own.

Captured with my Leica M11 Monochrom and the Summaron-M 28mm f/5.6. For me, black and white brings out the beautiful details in the deer's coat, the softness of the light, and the depth of the forest.
